Breast Cancer Related Charities

Looking for suggestions for where to make a donation to make a difference? I highly recommend that you look into any organization you plan to support financially. Charity Navigator is a good source of information on how funds are used by charities. Charities rated 3 (good) or 4 (exceptional) by Charity Navigator are highly regarded and trusted. I believe that before you contribute to a cause, you need to first think about the impact you want your donation to make. For example, do you want to contribute to research, education, or quality of life? Next research the organizations you are considering supporting. Make sure the organizations will really use your contribution as you intend!

Below are a few organizations I recommend. However, it is important that you select an organization YOU are comfortable with! I have categorized my list by research (i.e. find a cure) and support/services (education, support, quality of life, etc.). The charities I list below are rated 4 (exceptional) by Charity Navigator (at the time of writing).

Some of you are aware that I am actively involved as a past participant and current active volunteer with Casting for Recovery's (CFR) Western PA Chapter. If you are simply looking to donate to a 4-rated organization that means a lot to me, that is it! CFR won't (and doesn't claim to) cure cancer, but the organization delivers on its mission to greatly enhance the quality of life for women diagnosed with breast cancer through free fly fishing retreats, education, and peer support. It changed my life, and is rated the highest of the exceptional-rated charities I listed below.

There are many support charities rated highly. I have chosen to list several which have had an impact on me...since it is my blog! I have chosen to list only charities listed as exceptional by Charity Navigator at this time.
